Debney Junior Ranks Gift Fund

Debney Junior Ranks Mess has a gift fund enshrined in our Constitution (Part II, para 37). In April 2021, the PMC authorised the Gift Fund trust fund to be funded by 1% of all mess dues collected. As such all those who have paid mess dues on or after September 2021 are eligible to receive a gift under this fund, subject to the following conditions:

1. The individual is currently an ordinary member of the Mess;

2. The individual's mess account is paid in full;

3. The individual has been a member of the Mess and contributed to the gift fund for a minimum of three years; and

4. In the case of retirement and departure gifts, the individual has not received a retirement or departure gift from this Mess on a prior occasion.

As such, any Junior NCM who parades with 41 Signal Regiment, 41 Service Battalion, 41 Combat Engineer Regiment, or 20 Field Battery and has paraded for a minimum of three years, who has paid mess dues to the Debney Junior Ranks Mess on or after September 2021, and has no outsianding mess dues, is eligible for a gift of no more than $50.00 if they are in the following circumstance:

1. Retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces as a MCpl or below (favourable release) or Departure from the Debney Junior Ranks Mess (posted to a unit outside of the Armoury);

2. Hospitalization of the member (overnight stay); or

3. Member bereaving the loss of an immediate family member.

In order to request or nominate someone for a gift, please approach your Orderly Room and request that your Orderly Room Clerk to fill out Gift Fund Form.
